JM Architects submit Edinburgh school plans
JM Architects have applied for planning permission for a new £50m schools campus at James Gillespie’s High School and Primary School on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council.

This calls for demolition of the existing accommodation blocks (excluding the 16th century Bruntsfield House) and construction of a new school incorporating performance facilities and a sports hall.

Clad in facing brick, render, curtain wall and precast concrete panels the school is intended to provide a contemporary counterpoint to the existing

Rankin Fraser has been appointed to oversee landscaping work on the site, including retention of a number of mature trees and stone boundary walls in order to knit together retained and proposed buildings in a singular setting.
