Maryhill Locks regeneration commences
Work to rejuvenate land around the Maryhill Locks has stepped up a gear this morning with the commencement of ground works at the north Glasgow site.

of the Transformational Regeneration Area (TRA) the plans aim to deliver a mixture of 700 affordable homes for sale and rent alongside community, business, leisure and retail spaces set amidst an enhanced public realm.

Councillor Stephen Curran, chair of the TRA Citywide partnership Board, said: “…this project will soon become an exemplar in urban regeneration, which the people of Maryhill and Glasgow can be proud of.”

Maryhill Locks forms one of three pilot TRA projects in Glasgow being financed by Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Housing Association and the Scottish Government. The remaining TRA's,  Laurieston and Gallowgate, are expected to proceed on site later in the year.

Design work on the residential component of the scheme is being undertaken by Elder & Cannon and Hypostyle.
