Coll Place high flats laid low
A 17 storey block of flats within the Germiston district of Glasgow has been brought down in a controlled explosion as part of ongoing regeneration efforts.

The multis had been a fixture on the local skyline for 44 years but were brought down early on Sunday morning in a mere five seconds by Safedem, leaving nothing but 12,000 tonnes of rubble in their wake.

Alex McGuire, Glasgow Housing Association’s director of development and regeneration, said: "The demolition of the last of the multi-storeys at Coll Place is part of our wider plans, with our partners, to regenerate communities across the city.

15 Coll Place is the last of three blocks in the estate to be razed and presuages demolition iof the mammoth Red Road estate which lies immediately to the north.

"We'd like to thank nearby residents for their patience and understanding while the demolition was carried out."
