CUBE has announced a one-day Erich Mendelsohn Symposium at the Manchester School of Architecture on Monday 1st November, to accompany their showing of the exhibition Erich Mendelsohn: Dynamics and Functions which opens on October 15. Five speakers from Germany, Italy and the USA will deliver papers on the Mendelsohns and Britain, EM sketching - sketching EM: an e-mail discourse with architect Richard Hunter, Mendelsohn and Arthur Koester: the architect and his photographer, The Schocken Library in Jerusalem, and Mendelsohn’s life and work in the United States.
