April 4 2011
Designeast, a website designed to promote the design industry in central and Eastern Europe, has launched an international design competition in a bid to visualise “space and the future of humanity.”Young designers (aged 18-30) are invited to send in work to imagine space vehicles, space housing or the future appearance of spacesuits.
Submissions are expected to take the form of a sketch, or 3D model, accompanied by a brief description.
One winner will be selected from each category and treated to an august 2011 launch of a rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome, Kazakhstan and an outing dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first manned space flight by Yuri Gagarin.
