ACC Liverpool secure £40m for waterfront exhibition hall
March 23 2011
ACC Liverpool, operator of the Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre, and Liverpool City Council has secured £40m in funding to see creation of a purpose built waterfront exhibition hall.It is intended that this space will be used to host standalone exhibitions and stage larger international conferences for which the present facilities are ill equipped to deal with.
Comprising three distinct column free halls of 8,100sq/m the facility will provide flexible space for banquets and concerts holding up to 10,000 people, alongside an adjacent 200 bed hotel.
Planning approval will be sought in 18 months, once a building and design team have been chosen, with work commencing on site in 2013 for completion in September 2014.
