Aberdeen Sports Village nets architectural award

Reiach & Hall Architects Aberdeen Sports Village has emerged as the recipient of Aberdeen Society of Architects Health/Education & leisure Building Award.The sports complex is situated on the north east coast and is designed to foster increased community participation in sport whilst simultaneously assisting elite athletes to enhance their performance.
The centre incorporates a multipurpose games hall, indoor athletics training facility, full size indoor football pitch, squash courts, Dojo, multipurpose games room and a fitness suite.
In a statement Reiach & Hall said: “Sport is about commitment and discipline, but it’s also about having fun. The building takes this thought as inspiration: It is rigorously planned, but contains gestures and elements relating to sport and play.”
