Edinburgh Park Premier Inn commences construction
February 28 2011
Construction work has begun on a 120 bed Premier Inn at Edinburgh Park, designed by Lawrence McPherson Associates. The contemporary design forms part of Whitbread’s ‘Solus’ range of hotels, the second such establishment to roll off the production line in Scotland.
Slotting into Richard Meier’s original Park masterplan, which outlined a strict grid like network of tree lined boulevards, the £6m development will accommodate the chain’s Thyme branded restaurant and a Costa Coffee shop.
Construction work is scheduled to be completed by February 2012.

It's a postive thing for this part of Edinburgh. The station is bleak and usually deserted except at rush hour, so anything to enliven it is welcome

hopefully people will remember that the park is a twenty zone and a bin would be nice to put the used costa cups in ?
