Park Circus Townhouse conversion moves ahead
February 21 2011
Ellson Buchanan Architects, a newly formed Glasgow based practice, have been commissioned to convert a 150 year old A listed townhouse back to its original function as a home, continuing a trend for residential conversions in the Park Circus estate.Designed by Charles Wilson the terraced property was first built in 1861 to accommodate Glasgow’s burgeoning middle class, a status the private client is keen to rediscover via restored period details whilst inserting contemporary additions.
The practice are ideally placed to handle the conversion, they operate from a converted A-listed west end terrace themselves.
Practice co-founder Emma Ellson notes, “This is a magnificent property and a fantastic commission for our practice. We look forward to working with our clients to transform this 19th century townhouse into a home that can grow with their family, fit for 21st Century living.”
Conversion work is due to be completed in December 2011.
