The Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre has appointed Bovis Lend Lease to build the Scottish National Arena at Finnieston, Glasgow.

Bovis, who also worked on the SECC and Clyde Auditorium, will commence construction in February 2011 for completion by 2013, in readiness for its key role as a venue in the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The Arena has been designed by Foster + Partners and is touted as one of the most sophisticated facilities of its kind in Europe.
