macmon has commenced work on site of a primary care medical centre in Crawcrook, near Gateshead, part of a wider masterplan to regenerate the town.

Developed by Ashley House PLC it will provide flexible premises for an existing GP Practice, clinical facilities and an integrated pharmacy connected to the main block by a glazed reception area.

The contemporary design employs mono pitched roofs and facing brickwork and locates all clinical facilities to the ground floor.

A reception area and two consulting rooms are capable of operating independently of the pharmacy, allowing out of hours operations without the requirement to heat and light the whole building.

The centre is scheduled to complete in April 2011.
