Rok calls in administrators
November 9 2010
Rok Building Ltd has appointed administrators PwC after encountering difficulty in meeting its “financial obligations”.The move casts doubt on the future of several major schemes which have yet to start on site; including the development of a European Marine Science Park and the upgrade of Arnish Point, Stornoway.
Discussions are ongoing to determine the future of the business and how to progress projects currently in the process of delivery.
Rok’s difficulties stem from a £3.8m half year loss reported in August and “serious” accounting problems.
Rok are the latest in a series of construction sector casualties to hit the industry and is the second building firm to fold in as many months following Connaught’s collapse.
