RMJM admit to “cash flow pressures”
November 8 2010
RMJM has admitted to “cash flow pressures” after news emerged in Scotland on Sunday that up to 80 staff had quit the practice’s Hong Kong office over the past few weeks, including the firm’s Asian director Brian Shapiro. The Asian departures echo similar reports from Dubai and the US centred upon the alleged late payment of wages.
Despite this turmoil a spokesperson for the practice maintained that the company remains in “healthy financial shape.”
RMJM blame a lack of liquidity on late payment from a “significant client” but point out that that the firms figures overall remain “healthy”.
Sources close to RMJM indicate that the financial situation of the practice varies between offices with RMJM Glasgow being the groups star European performer, effectively subsidising Edinburgh and London.
