The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) have appointed AEG Facilities to handle event programming, naming rights, sponsorship ahead of the SECC Scottish National Arena’s launch in 2013.

The venue, designed by Foster + Partners, is projected to welcome in excess of 1 million visitors a year, a figure which would rank it amongst the world’s top five.

Providing specialised conference, exhibition and concert facilities on one site the development is expected to prompt wider regeneration of the Finnieston area with plans underway to construct a series of complimentary hotels.

SECC CEO John Sharkey said: “The Scottish National Arena will position both Glasgow and Scotland at the forefront of the global event and entertainment industry.”
