Charles unveils Edinburgh ‘Start Living’ concept

Prince Charles has visited Edinburgh as part of a UK wide drive to promote his Start initiative, a scheme which aims to encourage individuals to modify their behaviour in ways which lower their impact on the environment.Charles was in town to open the Start Living Shop in the St James Centre, an outlet designed to showcases the measures and products which can assist people in leading more sustainable lifestyles.
The shop was put together by 442 Design who took on two empty units in the mall, instigating a bright and friendly design that aims to communicate global issues to shoppers.
442 Managing Director David Dunn said: "The Start Living Shop tries to push environmental issues up the agenda for the general public by communicating in a simple, relevant way. We have expertise in this area and the environment is rightly becoming more influential in design decisions."
