Scottish Parliament shortlist unveiled
September 2 2010
A five strong shortlist of architects has been drawn up to design a security screening facility at the Eric Miralles and RMJM designed Scottish Parliament.Atkins, Jordan + Bateman, Lee Boyd, Nicoll Russell Studios and Reiach and Hall constitute this final five
Conspicuous by her absence Miralles widow, Benedetta Tagliabue, failed to reach this final handful, despite publicly protesting the practice of having different architects designing one building.
Twelve teams submitted applications for the tender with the Scottish Parliament deciding that their chosen five best demonstrated ability and experience against their criteria.
The winning bid to remodel the main entrance to the contentious building will be announced in January.
