Chester Old Port
November 19 2004
Designs for the Chester Old Port development, by McCormick Architecture for David McLean, have been submitted for planning approval. The site is a triangle of land bordering the Roodee racecourse, between the River Dee and New Crane Street. The scheme will feature apartments, stables and a restaurant, and may also include leisure and retail uses in the future. Architect Sean McCormick said: “The Old Port scheme is in an ideal location to support the race course and will include new state-of-the-art stable facilities in close proximity to the course.” Once outline planning consent is granted, construction is expected to start in February 2005, with completion in 2007.Read next: New Islington second phase
