Hyslop launches commercial visualisation enterprise

Culture minister, Fiona Hyslop, has launched the Centre for Digital Documentation and Visualisation (CDDV), a commercial partnership between Historic Scotland and Glasgow School of Art’s Digital Design Studio.CDDV will use laser scanning software and 3d visualisation software to digitally record heritage sites from across the globe and enable virtual access.
The centre will undertake work for the Scottish Government in conjunction with commercial work in order to generate income for further research and development.
Based at the Digital Design Studio at pacific Quay the fledgling design centre has completed its first commercial project, a digital recreation of the Habsburg monarchs summer residence at Schonbrunn Palace, Austria.
