Austin Smith Lord toast distillery success

Austin Smith Lord’s Roseisle distillery has been named as the Scottish Building Project of the year 2010 by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in Scotland.It is the first new distillery to be built in Scotland for 30 years and also the largest costing a hefty £40m.
An adjoining biomass power plant generates steam to power stills and a water reclamation plant.
RICS Scotland director Graeme Hartley said: “Visually the property is very striking and is a remarkable wrapper for the process contained within. It also makes a great attraction for both local and international visitors.”
