Nick Nairn to open Erskine Garden Centre

Celebrity chef Nick Nairn will open the £2.7m Archial designed Erskine Garden Centre and cafe tomorrow as the centre opens to the public.Nairn is backing the veterans’ charity venture by overseeing the menu of Vanishing Willows Café. This name refers to the willow trees which were used to create artificial limbs for soldiers returning from the First World War.
Clad in larch the pavilion has been designed to respond to changing space requirements and incorporates an external terrace looking onto flower displays to provide inspiration for customers own gardens.
All money raised by the venture will support ex service men and women in five homes across Scotland.
The project team includes: project managers Doig Hart; structural engineers Struer; building services engineers Hulley & Kirkwood and landscape architects Christopher Palmer Associates.

It's in the grounds of Erskine Hospital, by the bridge.
