Cowgate reborn
December 17 2004
A light sculpture by Greek artist Anna Constantinou has been installed at the site of the fire that devastated parts of Edinburgh’s Cowgate in 2002.The sculpture, called “Nuenergi”, consists of a large metal cage containing a mass of fibre-optic cable. This emits bright white light that spills upwards and outwards from the cage. Constantinou describes the sculpture as a response to the regenerative processes currently going on in Edinburgh.
