Reid Architecture complete Livingston store for M&S
December 17 2004
Reid Architecture’s Glasgow office has just completed a bespoke food store for Marks & Spencer at Livingston’s Almondvale West Retail Park.A striking entrance bay with silver rain screen cladding and a structural glazed façade forms the front section of what is effectively a standard portal retail shed. The frameless glazing allows an uninterrupted visual connection into the unit and greater daylight penetration into a deep plan. For the signage, Marks & Spencer agreed to omit their standard backboard and allow individually illuminated letters, in recognition of the desire to achieve transparency through the facade.
