Ross Barrett of HLM joins UR blog team

Ross Barrett, project architect at HLM, is the latest blogger to join the team at Urban Realm.Barrett will keep readers up to speed on construction progress of the practices Passivhaus design for Scotland’s Housing Expo, Inverness.
The event, being hosted in Inverness this August will showcase environmental innovation in residential design and construction.
It will be Scotland’s secomnd Passivhaus accredited home following Gokay Deveci’s Tigh-Na-Cladach home in Dunoon.

One of Gokay's units at Dunoon is to full Passive House standard and has PHI accreditation (this being the first and only Passive House thus far in Scotland and is a great achievement given that it is a social housing scheme). The other house at Midmar you refer to also by Gokay unfortunately isn’t to full Passive House standard. Both schemes also involved RTC timber (using PassiveWall and the Scottish Passive House Centre with whom we are also working).
