Google launches Best Street Awards

Google’s all seeing roving eyes have captured the streets of Britain in all their electrifying mundanity, but which ones are streets ahead? Who has reached the end of the road?In a bid to resolve such intractibles Google has assembled a panel of leading experts to sort out the countries Mayfairs from its Old Kent Roads.
VisitBritain, the nations tourism champion, Nicholas Lander, restaurant correspondent at the Financial Times and Fashion Designer Scott Henshall are amongst the experts to stake their reputations on a list which includes Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, Edinburgh’s The Shore and Newcastle’s Grey Street.
Now it’s the publics turn to be heard with an online poll soliciting the punters verdict on which linear stretch of the nations tarmac is most deserved of the titles Best Foodie Street; Best Fashion Street and Most Picturesque Street.
