BDPs Victoria Square nets RTPI award
February 5 2010
Belfast’s Victoria Square scoops the Silver Jubilee Cup at the Royal Town Planning Institutes planning awards.Designed by BDP the scheme extends the Belfast city centre toward its riverfront by entwining itself within the urban fabric rather than traditional dislocated mall format of previous retail led developments.
A varied materials palette reflects different elevations and elements whilst respecting the historic buildings which have been incorporated into the development.
Featuring a landmark glazed dome and viewing platform the scheme has become a symbol of the cities regeneration.
