Gleniffer Estates win approval for Newton Mearns expansion

Gleniffer Estates have secured planning permission for phase two of Greenlaw Village, Newton Mearns.Comprising a drive through restaurant, care home, petrol station, medical centre and hotel the £30m expansion will augment an existing Tesco Express which will be fitted out from March 2010.
East Renfrewshire Council have still to decide whether to grant permission for a third phase of development, comprising Scotland’s first purpose built Waitrose store.
The suburban business park forms part of a 120 acre greenfield development, prominently located by the M77.
Vehicle dependant it will benefit from an upgrade of park and ride facilities at Patterton Station.
