Dear green place sets out green vision with “Sustainable Glasgow”

Sustainable Glasgow, a consortium led by Strathclyde University, has published a strategy to transform Glasgow into one of Europe’s greenest cities by 2020.The feasibility study outlines how future energy requirements can be met whilst reducing carbon emissions, creating employment opportunities, tackle fuel poverty and regenerate run down communities.
Renewable energy, district heating, sustainable transport, smart grids, biogas, biomass and energy management will all be pursued in pursuit of this goal.
Strathclyde have teamed up with Glasgow City Council, Scottish and Southern Energy, Veolia, Scottish Enterprise and Blitzer, Clancy and Company.
