Scottish Stirling
February 11 2005
This year’s Stirling Prize ceremony is to take place at Edinburgh’s Royal Museum on October 15, with the nearby Scottish Parliament building a hot favourite to win. The ceremony, which will be televised live on Channel 4, is expected to attract around 650 guests. Other buildings tipped to be in the running are the Sage in Gateshead, by last year’s winners, Foster and Partners, and Will Alsop’s, £10million, Ben Pimlott building at Goldsmiths College in London. John Pelan, the RIAS’s director of communications, said: “I think anybody would be amazed if the Scottish Parliament was not on the short-list as it is such a significant building.”Read next: Sport in the park
