Austin-Smith:Lord have received planning permission to construct a library and learning hub for the University of Edinburgh.Providing flexible study environments for students the centre is designed to provide a social, learning and administrative focal point for the College of Science and Engineering.
This takes the form of a two storey ‘Podium Hub’ which houses a café and meeting area designed to accommodate lively discourse.
On upper levels a series of quieter and acoustically separated study spaces have been designed with opportunity to expand onto an outdoor roof terrace.
