Travelodge lodge hotel expansion plans
January 12 2010
Travelodge, the budget hotel chain, are instigating a significant £115m expansion programme which will see 26 new hotels built in areas including Aberdeen, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Hull. The chain are looking to buck the downturn by investing at the bottom of the cycle, envisioning a structural change in the industry as consumers eschew upmarket providers for lower cost accommodation rather than mid market and full service establishments.
Following this growth the Travelodge estate will comprise more than 400 hotels totalling some 30,000 rooms.
Travelodge is owned by Dubai International Capital.
