Offshore wind turbine plans put in motion

A significant expansion of UK offshore wind power has been approved by the Crown Estate with development rights granted to energy companies in nine regions, including the Moray Firth and Firth of Forth.This forms part of round three of the UK’s offshore energy strategy which will seek to add 25GW of additional generating capacity by 2020.
EDP Renewables and SeaEnergy will develop the Moray Firth zone whilst Seagreen Wind Energy and Airtricity will tackle the Firth of Forth.
