Five churches receive funding boost from HS and HLF

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Historic Scotland (HS) have awarded funding to five churches and one cathedral which have been identified as under threat.Brechin Cathedral, St Salvador’s Episcopal Church (Dundee), St Bartholomew’s Episciopal Church (Gourock), St Mary’s Church (Lanark), Sacred Heart RC Church (Aberdeen) and Innerleithen Church of Scotland have
Over £1m has been allocated to the five which are described as being of important architectural merit with funds used to tackle wet and dry rot, leaks, re-pointing, re-roofing and conservation.
Brechin Cathedral was built in the late 900’s by King Kenneth II of Scotland and features a 14th century round tower, one of only two remaining in the country.
Innerleithen was built in 1865 by Thomas Pilkington with later additions, it requires essential repairs to roof and gables.

This is a long shot in the dark? i am trying to find the details of my grandfather john black and grandmother jane miller married between 1930 and 1935 at st salvador's church mothers birthday is 1914 and , my grandfathers bithday was approx around then
