Foster’s Langley Academy welcomes students
November 19 2009
Langley Academy, designed by Foster + Partners, near Slough is pioneering a new “museum learning” template with the unorthodox approach of mixing classrooms with rare artefacts and exhibits. These will be brought into classrooms to inform debate and spark a pursuit of knowledge.
Specialising in environmental issues, science and sport the school is designed to practice what it preaches by utilising cutting edge energy saving design and employing Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE to teach rowing.
Designed around an enclosed atrium and assembly space from which covered streets connect to teaching areas the school boasts a wealth of first class facilities, including a TV and sound recording studio.
