Cre8 and B3 win consent for Fife sport centres
cre8architecture together with B3 Architects have been granted planning permission by Fife Council to construct two new sports facility in Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.

Sportscotland will provide £2.5m of funding toward the projects as part of efforts to enhance the countries sporting facilities in advance of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Built from dark grey and black polished blockwork the Glenrothes centre will replace the existing Fife Institute with a 25m pool, gym, sports halls, five a side pitches, activity rooms, cafe and athletics track.

The Kirkcaldy Centre comprise a 25m pool, sports hall, gym and café.
 
Construction work is expected to begin in the Spring of 2010.
