Seventh heaven for Michael Gilmour Associates
October 28 2009
Michael Gilmour Associates have completed a campus development for offshore engineering company Subsea7.Located within an unprepossessing business park on the outskirts of Aberdeen the £24m project consists of 14,000sq/m of floor space spread over four floors.
Accommodation is distributed between wings of space arranged on a pinwheel plan, focussing upon a linear atrium which also serves as the primary circulation route.
Along this route are positioned a number of key spaces including reception, presentation area and restaurant which opens onto an external terrace to maximise the extensively landscaped grounds.
The form of Subsea7 ensures staff will never find themselves greater than nine metres from a source of natural light with brises soleils installed to mitigate excessive solar gain.
