October 19 2009
Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland’s Deputy First Minister, has declared an end to right to buy for all new council and social housing tenants.Seeking to address a shortage of social housing Sturgeon told the SNP’s party conference that the scheme, introduced by Margaret Thatcher in 1980’s Housing Act, was leading to a shortage of affordable housing.
