Ayrshire ski centre slaloms through planning
October 16 2009
Planning permission has been granted for two dry ski slopes and a clubhouse at Newmilns Snow and Sports complex in the Irvine Valley, Ayrshire. The £2.9m scheme designed by Lawrence McPherson Associates replaces an existing 1970’s complex to the north of the town’s High Street.
A 115m adult slope and a 30m nursery slope will provide access for all whilst the clubhouse will offer a café, gym, changing rooms, conference facilities.
A bid for funding is now to be made to the Big Lottery Fund and a number of private investors.
Should this be successful development work on the complex is likely to start next autumn.
