Architon design Aberdeen fish research centre

Construction work is underway for a Fish Veterinary Aquaria for Marine Scotland at Torry in Aberdeen. Designed by Architon LLP the three storey building will become home to the Scottish Government’s national reference laboratory for fish health.Multiple walkways and bridges integrate the laboratory with adjacent buildings and landscape whilst scale and position allow views out across Aberdeen Harbour.
Local materials including granite and Scottish larch have been sourced for the project which aims to achieve a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating. Completion is anticipated by September 2010.
