Architecture Week 2005
March 11 2005
Architecture Week, the annual national celebration of contemporary architecture between 17–26 June, is a joint Arts Council England and Royal Institute of British Architects initiative which aims to raise public awareness and enjoyment of architecture. It is a unique opportunity to profile local initiatives and issues surrounding the built environment, and the Arts Council and RIBA are seeking events to form part of the national programme and attract new audiences. This year the North West focus is regeneration: the physical transformation of towns, design issues, effects on the community, the role of artists and involvement of the public in regeneration. Events that explore these topics are of real interest. You may already run an event that could be included in the programme, want to launch a project during the week, raise awareness of a new public building, host a debate, architect talk, exhibition, educational workshop or local tour.
Event funding is available through Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts Scheme. Visit www.artscouncil.org.uk for more details.
Register your event online at www.architectureweek.org.uk before 31 March and it will appear in Architecture Week North West’s printed brochure and on the national website.
