RMJM Leith plans

The largest planned urban expansion in the history of Edinburgh has been given the go-ahead by the City of Edinburgh Council. The Leith Docks Development Framework (LDDF), which will guide the development of the 170 hectare site over the next 20 years, was approved by the city council as supplementary planning guidance. The framework was prepared by Forth Ports in partnership with the city council, and the masterplan is by RMJM.The development will include 18,000 new homes clustered around nine waterfront villages, parks and squares, promenades, culture and heritage hubs and health and education facilities. Homes will range from key worker accommodation to family homes and beach-front villas.
