Aedas submit Regal crown for Birmingham

Birmingham could net the tallest UK building outside London if plans are approved for a mammoth 56 storey tower rising 198.75mThe skyscraper would be built on the cities Broad Street with a retail frontage and include a 289 room five star hotel, 256 serviced apartments (or additional hotel accommodation) and three floors of residential apartments. A basement level of automated parking will also be provided.
Designed by Aedas for Regal Property Group the soaring structure will feature a dramatic roof terrace and winter garden on the 52nd floor and a lower skybar that will furnish the city with its highest dining experience.
Work could commence on the £125m scheme as early as 2010 for completion in 2013.
