Archial Architects have lodged outline plans with Perth & Kinross Council for a National Curling Academy in Kinross. The £4m centre is being developed by Kinross Curling Trust, in association with the Royal Caledonian Curling Club, in a bid to boost standards in the home of Curling by providing a six rink ice pad, gym, café and museum.
Sustainable materials such as timber will be used for the scheme with the intent to link internal and external composition and relate to the surrounding rural landscape.
The Academy is due to open in time for the 2010/2011 season.
