John Gilbert Architects have scooped a treble of award nominations for Creagan Gorm cottages, an affordable housing project in Cairngorms National Park.In the running for the Roses Design Awards affordable housing and sustainable design categories the project is also vying for the sustainable smaller housing project of the year title at Inside Housing’s Sustainable Housing Awards.
Commissioned by Albyn Housing Association the homes are designed to maximise use of Scottish timber and boast a multitude of sustainable features including a multi fuel stove, rainwater harvesting and superior insulation.
Project architect Matt Bridgestock hopes the scheme will be used as a model for future social housing development.
