July 29 2009
Construction work has finished on Trongate 103, an £8m centre for the arts and culture in Glasgow’s Merchant City after a lengthy five year build, allowing the first tenants to move in although the centre will not fully open until September.Designed by architects Elder & Cannon the centre incorporates two floors of exhibition space below four levels of production space, designed to best support the needs of both resident arts organisations and their audiences.
Developed by Glasgow City Council, Culture and Sport Glasgow and the Scottish Arts Council the refurbished Edwardian warehouse will be home to eight distinct arts organisations, including the Glasgow Print Studio and Russian Cultural Centre along with over 40 studios.
