Prize sized up
June 23 2009
A triple treble is underway as a three pronged contest takes place over the next three months to land a £3m arts prize from a “mystery donor”.A gallery extension for Edinburgh’s College of Art (Oliver Chapman Architects), a “creative laboratories” centre at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop (Sutherland Hussey Architects) and a national literary quarter in Edinburgh are all vying to hit the jackpot.
Judging for the competition will be carried out by Bob Benson, Professor Charles McKean and Lord William Prosser with the aim of adding value to the arts and effect the Edinburgh landscape.
The winner will be announced early next year.
