Nautical College plans approved

A £5.6m Marine Skills Centre on the banks of the Clyde, the first element of the New Campus Glasgow project, has been approved.Comprising a teaching facility, workshops and pontoon for a free fall lifeboat, the centre will appear to float above the river, doubling up as conference and exhibition space.
Work is scheduled to start on the scheme in June and take around a year to complete. New Campus Glasgow wil eventually see Central, Metropolitan and Nautical colleges combine forces on a £300m city centre campus.
