Pollok civic realm opens
May 20 2009
Continuing a run of good form Archial Architects are celebrating the official opening of their Pollok Civic Realm Project, shortlisted for both a RIBA award and Best Regeneration Project in the Scottish Design Awards 2009.Pollok Civic Realm provides access to a café, library, museum, child care and a host of related social and healthcare services to establish a key plank of the ongoing regeneration of Pollok town centre.
Access is modelled on the concept of a colonnade to interlink these facilities with a transport interchange and Silverburn Shopping Centre, drawing people through the amenities.
Centred on a civic hub, contained under one roof, spaces spiral off from a central reception desk and introduces a fun approach to design with the use of colour and graphics.
