7N Architects have launched their new look website, showcasing the practices work across Scotland.Foremost amongst their portfolio is a masterplan for Inverness Campus, submitted today to Highland Council by Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
Developed in conjunction landscape architects Lisa MacKenzie Consultancy, the 215 acre campus will play a pivotal role in the eastern expansion of Inverness over the next 25 years, providing academic, research, residential and business space.
Ewan Anderson of 7N Architects said “The project is fundamentally about opening up access to lifelong learning to people from a wide range of academic disciplines and backgrounds. The masterplan aims to bring people together in an inspiring environment which is woven into the social and cultural fabric of Inverness”.
A key consideration of the plan was to create a sense of connection with the dramatic Highland landscape, this is achieved through a focal hub building positioned on elevated land and aligned with the Kessock bridge and Ben Wyvis
The Campus is rooted in its landscape by working with tree lines, watercourses and habitats and extensive central parkland, all unified by a canopy that flows over the convergance of pedestrian routes.
