Architecture poll rolled out by EAA
May 8 2009
The Edinburgh Architectural Association (EAA) are launcing a ‘best of the best’ online poll in celebration of the association’s 150th year.Three buildings have been chosen from each of these 15 decades and presented to both the public and architectural profession to stimulate discourse.
Amongst the chosen few are a post modern fire station in Tollcross, a country house in Gullane and the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle. Seemingly irreconcilably distinct the one feature of commonality shared is an appreciation by local people.
Votes are invited at the EAA website until June 3 when the results will be announced. Selected buildings will be highlighted in a new guide to Edinburgh being published by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.
