VW Leisure submit pleasure park plans

VW Leisure Ltd and Dunard Design Ltd have submitted plans to build Scotland’s first large-scale leisure park to be powered by wind and geothermal energy.Situated on a former sand and gravel quarry the site aims to provide parents from across the central belt with the choice of a wide range of activity based pursuits.
Facilities set to make a splash include a sailing school conducting lessons on how to Kayak, sail wind-surf and water-ski.
Kids are also likely to strike a bee-line for the outdoor activity centre which will include a Trojan horse slide, wooden forts, a 100ft sailing ship and overhead climbing frames.
A park lodge and restaurant on the waterfront and 33 New England style log cabins will be available to hire for wedding receptions and other functions.
Subject to approval the £15m park could commence construction in West Lothian by winter 2009 and is scheduled to complete by summer 2011.
